R. U. Sirius

           About Sirius

Sirius is a Thoroughbred Percheron cross who was bred at Rutgers University. Sirius was involved in the young horse program and then sold to a man who lived in Vermont. Sirius was brought to my attention by my farrier who said this was a chance in a lifetime horse. Sirius shortly after became mine. Sirius has been with me for 5 years now. Sirius is definately a once in a lifetime kind of horse, he is extraordinary. I hope someday that Sirius and I will be able to compete at the Olympic level.

As Sirius was a gift or pass it forward, Sirius and I hope to inspire everyone of all ages. We hope to give back to everyone by showing love, and teamwork. I hope the things we acheive in our lifetime inspire others to Never Give Up.

           Training Over The Years:

Sirius and I have trained at Horse Amour in Castleton Vt. I have had the amazing opportunity to be taught by Sue Cook. Sue is actually my mother. I have had this amazing opportunity all my life. I am very lucky to have this. My mom has taught me everything I have learned, and helped me in every step of this journey.

My grandmother Trudy Wissel, and my father Steve Wissel have also given me the opportunity of learning everything I need to know about horses. I was given these opportunities at End of Hunt Equestrian Center in Suffield, Connecticut. I have a very horse involved family which has made me the equestrian I am today.

My last big educational enrollment came from Meredith Manor International Equestrian Centre. I was enrolled in school with Sirius to further both of our educations. I received my Riding Master, Training Certifications at school along with more experience in Business Management, Barn Management, and Horse Health.

Over the summer of 2014, I worked with Trainer Ida Anderson Norris of Benson,VT. Ida provided me with a detailed education of classical dressage. She took me under her wing allowing me to watch her train and ride young dressage horses. Ida has a very lengthy education with horses, riders, and is an amazing judge. She travels all over the country, and also outside of the country. She taught me barn management, and alot of the basics of dressage. She is a very patient, and kind equestrian professionl.

Sirius and I were the very first dressage exhibit at Green Mountain College. This was a very big moment for the both of us. We performed at Dressage Test along with a Musical Freestyle. Sirius loved having the audience of over 70 people, and didnt hesitate to give a great performance. We were very lucky to have this opportunity.

Sirius & Stephanie accomplish 4 feet once again during there training at Meredith Manor International Equestrian Centre. Spring 2014

Sirius and I took a tumble today. We are both okay, and were not injured. We simply took a bad step in a slippery corner and lost our balance. We did get back on after and finish the course. This was just a little bump in our ride today, but a reminder at how fast things can happen. Very thankful that Sirius was okay.

Sirius jumps 4 feet.

Sirius has proven everyone wrong. He has given me the feeling of flying. I never imagined being able to actually accomplish this goal. Sirius jumped 4 feet. I am so excited to see what the future holds for us.
